Nicole Cooke

Nicole Cooke was born in Wale, in 1983. Currently aged only 22, Nicole already has an impressive and wide ranging palmeres including winning the Giro Donne (Female Tour Of Italia – one of the most prestigious Women’s Stage Races)

Supported by her enthusiastic cycling family Nicole took up cycling at when she was still quite young. And at an age of 12 she joined her first cycling club Cardiff Ajax CC. Within 3 months Nicole won her first race, the Welsh Under-12 Cyclo-cross Championships where she beat all the boys! Nicole made good use of her natural talent and was able to regularly beat boys and girls much older than herself. By the time she was 17 she had won an unprecedented collection of British National Titles and World Titles in a variety of cycling disciplines. These included Gold in Junior World Championships in Road Racing, Time Trials, and Mountain Bikes.

Nicole is based in Italy where she rides for the Italian based team SAFI - Pasta Zara – Manhattan. Nicole was also part of the British Olympic team in 2004, finishing 5th in the Road Race.

Chris Boardman who has offered coaching advice to Nicole says

"she really is a phenomenon ... I can't think of anybody who's come close to doing what she's doing now".!
